Hi, I'm Rachel Boston, co-founder of FocusBlu. Before any of this, I spent more than 35 years in real estate, the last 20 here in North Texas. I was not planning to start a supplement company. This is the story of how I did anyway, and why I could not let it go.
It started when I turned 50
When I turned 50, I started paying closer attention to my health and to the way we age. I went down the rabbit hole of cellular health, the kind of late-night research where one question leads to ten more. That search is what eventually led me to methylene blue, and it is where my FocusBlu story really begins.
The post I could not stop thinking about
It actually started with a single post on Facebook. Someone had dropped a bit of blue into a glass of water with the caption, "if you know, you know." Well, I did not know. And that bothered me. How had I never heard of this? I started searching that night, reading everything I could find about what methylene blue is, how people were using it, and who it might help.
What I noticed for myself
When I finally found a product to try, I paid attention. For me, the first thing I noticed was steadier energy. Then a clearer head through the afternoon, and a brighter mood. Everyone is different, and I can only speak to my own experience, but it was enough to make me want to understand this category far more deeply.
The problem: I could not find a product I trusted
The more I searched, the more frustrated I got. There were plenty of options, but very little honesty behind them. Some brands literally just said "blue dye" on the label. No clear sourcing. No explanation of how to take it. No warnings about what not to combine it with. After building a 35-year career on earning people's trust, I could not understand why a product you put in your body came with so little of it.
A lunch that changed everything
I was at lunch with my brother Caleb, telling him how discouraged I was. I genuinely could not find a pure product I felt good about. And he said, "Sis, why don't we start our own company?" I laughed it off at first. I was in real estate, not supplements. But two weeks later I was driving around Frisco, Texas, and I felt so sure that I called him and said, "Let's do this."
It worked because we each brought something the other did not have. Caleb is a formulator with deep lab connections from his work in the cannabis industry. I bring the marketing, the sales, and the obsession with how we show up for people. Together we could formulate it right, then tell the story honestly. That partnership is FocusBlu.
What we put in the bottle, and what we left out
We set one standard from day one: pure, safe, and effective, with nothing to hide.
FocusBlu is USP Grade 1% methylene blue in a glycerin and USP water base. The full deck is simple on purpose: methylene blue, USP water, glycerin, stevia, and vitamin C. We added vitamin C because it complements how your body absorbs the product.
Just as important is what is not in it. If you read closely, you will find that some products on the market use a mineral oil base as their delivery source. Ours does not. And because we believe transparency should be the default, our COAs, our dosing guidance, and our safety warnings are all right there on the site. If you are on certain medications, we tell you plainly not to take it. We would rather lose a sale than put someone at risk.
Every bottle is formulated and manufactured here in Frisco, Texas, and measured with a precision dropper so you know exactly what you are taking every time.
How I take it
My approach is simple: start low and go slow. On the FocusBlu card we walk you through easing in, beginning with about five drops the first week, moving to around ten the second week, and twenty or more after that, always in a glass of water. I take mine in the morning. There is no prize for rushing it.
Who I built FocusBlu for
Honestly, it is for anyone looking for cellular support. Your mitochondria help power the trillions of cells in your body, and methylene blue has been studied for its role in supporting mitochondrial function. For me, taking it every day is something I feel good about, and I built this brand so other people could feel confident about what they are taking too.
It is bigger than a bottle
FocusBlu is veteran-owned, and the first $5 of every sale goes to Camp Hope, which supports veterans and their families. That mission, along with our faith and a real commitment to excellence, is woven into why we do this. This was never only about a supplement. It is about doing it the right way, with transparency people can actually see.
If you have been looking for a clean, honest place to start, this is the brand I wish I had found at the beginning.
